About this calculator
How This Salary Calculator Works
Enter a pay amount and the period it applies to (hourly, weekly, monthly, annual, and more), along with hours and days worked per week, and the calculator converts it into every other common pay period.
Worked Example
A $60,000 annual salary, working 40 hours over 5 days a week, works out to $28.85/hour, $230.77/day, $1,153.85/week, and $5,000/month.
The Formula
Every conversion routes through an hourly rate first: Hourly = Weekly pay ÷ Hours per week (with weekly pay derived from whatever period you entered). From there, daily pay is hourly × hours per day, monthly is weekly × 52 ÷ 12 (not simply weekly × 4, since most months aren't exactly 4 weeks), and annual is weekly × 52.
A Note on Gross vs. Net Pay
These figures are all gross pay — before taxes, retirement contributions, health insurance, or other deductions. Actual take-home pay is typically meaningfully lower and depends on factors this calculator doesn't have (tax bracket, filing status, benefits elections), so use these numbers for comparing pay structures or negotiating offers, not for budgeting exact take-home income.
Worked example
A $60,000 annual salary at 40 hours/week works out to about $28.85/hour, $230.77/day, $1,153.85/week, and $5,000/month.
Frequently asked questions
Does this account for taxes?
No — every figure here is gross pay. Take-home pay after taxes and deductions will be lower.
How are monthly and biweekly different?
Biweekly pay (every two weeks) happens 26 times a year, while monthly pay happens 12 times a year — a biweekly total multiplied by 26 and a monthly total multiplied by 12 both equal the annual figure, but the individual paycheck amounts differ.
What if my hours vary week to week?
Use your typical or average weekly hours — the conversion is linear, so the results scale proportionally with whatever hours figure you enter.
